Understanding Uncombable Hair Syndrome: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment Options

Writer's picture: SoulFlowerSoulFlower

Have you heard of Uncombable Hair Syndrome? When I learned of it, I automatically became intrigued, as I'm sure you can understand since I AM a natural hair specialist. I instinctively look at hair every time I encounter someone, its part of my DNA make up. I am not critical of the hair, I simply want to provide my care, almost all the time. My love for hair is unmatched, and when I had to retire, for a short time, my love for hair never waned. When looking at pictures of hair diagnosed with "Uncombable Hair Syndrome", it looks like hair that needs intensive TLC. Intensive SOULFLOWER TLC, to be specific. My skills have been honed to provide custom care treatments for my clients, there is no one size fits all method for the care I provide. All care is individualized, just as each person is an individual. My products are based on plants and their medicinal values, as such my products were created custom for the care of my clients crown.

Uncombable Hair Syndrome (UHS) is said to be a rare genetic disorder of the hair shaft and only effects hair growing from the scalp, and the EXACT cause is unknown to the ones who have established this as a disorder. This "disorder" causes the hair to grow in irregular shapes other than cylindrical....or laying flat. Some syptoms of UHS are coarse/rough textured hair, white hair, wooly hair, natural black hair that is "uncombable", yet grows well. You see why I am totally intrigued. Can you relate to any of these "symptoms"?

Its the treatments (as listed by osmosis.org) that get my attention even more. Key, is the treatment of UHS, is the avoidance of harsh chemical hair treatments! As a licensed natural hair specialist avoidance of harsh chemical hair treatments is actually the foundation of my entire career; it is the foundation of all my products. Our crown area, the space that grows our hair, our scalps are very receptive and absorbant. Everything we put on our scalp/hair gets absorbed into our body, so how important it is that we are conscious of the products we use. A hair regiment that is gentle and effective is also recommended ~ hmmmm, allow me to introduce myself and my services to you and your hair: I'm Shennan "SoulFlower" Scott, Licensed Master Natural Hair Specialist and Crown Worker...Its my pleasure to serve you.

I welcome the opportunity to serve anyone who has been diagnosed with UHS. Contact me directly at info@soulflowernaturals.com or phone me at 336-582-0575. I look forward to meeting you soon.
